Protect Wisconsin’s Constitution:

Vote NO on Questions 1 and 2

On the August 13th primary ballot, Wisconsinites will have the opportunity to reject two misleading constitutional amendments.

These amendments are a power grab by Republicans in the Legislature to give them the sole power over how federal funds are distributed.

Vote NO on Questions 1 and 2.

State Journal Editorial Board:
We recommend voting “no” and “no”

The Legislature has placed two questions on statewide primary ballots. Question 1 asks voters to change the state constitution “to provide that the Legislature may not delegate its sole power to determine how moneys shall be appropriated.” Question 2 would “prohibit the governor from allocating any federal moneys the governor accepts on behalf of the state without the approval of the Legislature.”

We recommend voting “no” and “no.’

Republican in the Legislature want sole power over federal funds, but they refused to do their jobs when it mattered most.

These amendments would eliminate checks and balances, removing any governor’s ability to direct federal funds, even in times of crisis.
